Emergency Regulations Released Related
to Child Abuse Hotline
Section 409-1 of the New York Education Law, which
became effective January 17, 2017, requires every public
school in New York State (including charter schools) to post
in English and in Spanish the toll-free telephone number
operated by the New York State Office of Child and Family
Services ("OCFS") to receive reports of child abuse or
neglect, and directions for accessing the OCFS website.
That telephone number is 1-800-342-3720.

La Secci6n 409-1 de la Ley de Educaci6n de Nueva York,
que se hizo efectivo el 17 de enero de 2017, exige que
todas las escuelas publicas del Estado de Nueva York
(incluidas las escuelas aut6nomas) publiquen en ingles y
en espafiol el numero de telefono gratuito de New York
Oficina Estatal de Servicios para Ninos y Familias

The Amagansett Union Free School District’s Chain of Communication helps to promote direct, open and respectful interactions to ensure questions and concerns are addressed promptly and efficiently. The District encourages any and all questions from parents and community residents regarding school matters. If your issue has not been resolved after following all of the appropriate steps in the Chain of Communication, you may contact the Board of Education by sending a letter or attending a scheduled Board meeting.
