Running for Board of Education
District residents interested in running for a Board of Education position should contact the District Clerk at 631-267-3652 or EMail DistrictClerk@aufsd.org for information.
Packets and petitions nominating candidates for the office of the Board of Education will be made available in the District Clerk's Office. Please call (631) 267-3652 to make an appointment to obtain petitions.
Completed nominating petitions must be filed with the District Clerk at the Amagansett UFSD, 320 Main Street, Amagansett, NY 11930, not later than 5:00 pm prevailing time on Monday, April 20, 2026.
In 2026 the Vote will be for the election of three (3) members of the Board of Education -
The two (2) candidates receiving the most votes will be elected to a three (3) year term from July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2029.
The candidate receiving the next most votes will be elected to the balance of an unexpired term from May 19, 2026 – June 30, 2028

Absentee or Early Mail Ballot Applications
Applications for Absentee and Early Mail Ballots may be obtained during school business hours from the District Clerk, or via the links below.
Completed applications must be received by the District Clerk as follows –
- Not before April 20th, 2026
- If requesting the Ballot by mail then Application must be completed by May 12th at 5:00pm
- If requesting an Application in person then must be completed by May 18th at 5:00pm
Ballots will be issued upon the satisfactory completion of the application form.

Polls open at 2:00 pm and close at 8:00 pm.
Voter Eligibility & Registration Information
In order to vote on the Amagansett School Budget & Election, residents must be registered either via Suffolk County Board of Elections (SCBOE) or directly with the Amagansett School.
Voter eligibility requires that you are:
- A Citizen of the United States
- Eighteen [18] years of age or older on the day of the election
- You have lived in the school district for at least 30 days prior to this election.
- A registered voter with the school district or with the Suffolk County Board of Elections
